JOB DESCRIPTION:
The General Operative is an important element of the Sea-Tech work group teaming up with the Marine ICT Technician. You will support the technical development team with the construction / assembly and testing of security, telemetry, environmental, wireless network infrastructure for deployment by our business partners on projects in the coastal and mainland regions. Manual dexterity and good visualization of structures is essential, as much of the assembly will require bespoke solutions for individual applications.
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate duties will include:
- Manual work experience
- Safepass certification
- Full clean driving license. The successful candidate will be required to drive company vehicles, trailers, MEWP...
- Good dexterity with power tools, and basic construction/fabrication of parts.
- Positive attitude in demanding situations
- The successful candidate will be an important part of a small team and will have to work well with others.
- Ability to use own initiative, but also take direction well.
- Very good English
- Must be willing to travel. We support installations around the Cork area, and the successful candidate will be required to make site visits as necessary. Must also be able and willing to travel to mainland Europe if required, in order to work on projects abroad.
SUCCESSFULL SKILLS
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a keen interest for technology AND manual work. A good understanding of materials such as uses of cast iron, wrought iron, plain carbon steel, alloy steels, non-ferrous metals and plastics will be appreciated. Some knowledge of electrical circuitry and equipment, installation and best practice are necessary. Ability to prepare and build wood based products. A positive and flexible approach, with a solution driven focus is essential. The ability to follow technical instructions, and to adhere to prescribed protocols is also essential, as the company seeks ISO certification for practices and procedures. The ability to plan and carry through self-directed continuing professional development and the ability to consult, work with and learn from experts in various fields in the realisation of a project is absolutly indispensable.
SPECIFIC SKILLS
The successful candidate should have:
- FULL EU Driving License, clear of any penalty points.
- BE driving license would be appreciated
- Working at height certification (MEWP)
- Computer literacy expereince on a CAD system would be appreciated
- Thinking Creatively -- Developing, designing, or creating new tools, ideas...
- Control Precision -- The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
