Legend of the Seas from Spike Island

Legends of the Seas is the first liner to visit Cork this year, many more to come. We have worked around the clock to deliver on time the new dockside internet access point in Cobh Whitepoint Moorings.

Dockside is a SeaFi product specialy designed for crews of ships visiting ports equipped with SeaFi Horizon.  SeaFi Horizon turns a port into a gigantic Local Area Network (LAN) once in place access points called Dockside stations allow crewmates to use their smartphones to connect to the internet.

I would like to thank all the Port of Cork team for the kind support we have received especially on the field. Cork Pilots in the port operations were also instrumental, their advices, views comments have been invaluable in the development of SeaFi in Cork harbour. The access point was successfully tested by our team for several weeks now and the crew of the US Navy frigate Leyte Gulf were the first to use Sea~Fi Dockside to call and send emails to their relatives left home using internet (VOIP). We hope the passengers of Legends of the Seas will appreciate as well the possibility of using their Twitter, Facebook, Google, connecting their iPhone, iPads and other Android devices to the quay wall of Cobh…
